Sustainability
At Frederik Taus, we are committed to transparency and sustainability, striving to create clothing that can be passed down through generations. This commitment encompasses thoughtful design, transparent manufacturing processes, and social responsibility.
We acknowledge that sustainability in fashion is challenging. In fact, we believe that truly sustainable fashion is nearly impossible, given that the world already has more clothing than it needs. However, by focusing on creating mindful, high-quality garments, we aim to make gradual, meaningful changes. We approach this challenge with humility, recognizing that we are far from perfect.
We continuously strive to improve, building a more sustainable fashion industry step by step. If you have any questions about our sustainability efforts, please feel free to contact us.
Craftsmanship That Lasts Through Generations
We believe that sustainability begins with the first sketch. Our goal is to create clothing that can be passed down to future generations, designing our products with longevity and wearability in mind. This includes considering every aspect of a garment's life cycle—ensuring it can be cared for, repaired, and maintained for lasting use in your everyday life.
Materials
We prioritize using sustainably sourced, high-quality, natural materials in our designs. We work closely with partners who utilize deadstock fabric, making the manufacturing process more ecologically responsible. This approach also allows us to use materials that may not be classified as "sustainable" when necessary, such as for showpieces or critical components like understructures for volume or support.
Our goal is to trace our supply chain from the origin of the materials to production. A significant part of this effort involves keeping production in our studio as much as possible. Additionally, we collaborate with carefully selected partners who agree with our sustainability standards.
Your Role
Everyone plays a part in reducing environmental impact. You can contribute by making thoughtful purchases and taking care of your clothes. Please refer to our Care Guide for instructions on how to ensure our pieces have a long life in your wardrobe. Remember, giving them a second life through resale or donation after your ownership is equally important.
